Day 95 of Lockdown
I'm great at spelling bees. But hopeless at spelling other words.
Today, for possible the first time in my life I ran non-stop for 20 minutes. In fact, I even got bored of running around the flat park and went out road running on a couple of hills (up Valletort Road for the locals).
And I bloody enjoyed it.
My fitness has improved markedly over the last 5 weeks. After that run, I slowed down to a 5 minute cool-down walk, and at the end of that I meditated. i.e. I had recovered enough to manage slow, controlled breathing.
Week 5 is complete - And I think this was the mentally-challenging week that I had read about when I first attempted C25K before injury. Going from 2x 8 minute runs with a 3 minute walk between them on Wednesday, straight into a single 20 minute run was scary. But it was only a mental challenge. Once I got into my rhythm and started thinking about anything else apart from running, I just kept moving.
I don't think Mo Farrah is going to be losing any sleep just yet, but I'm very happy with progress.

The Bone JarThe Bone Jar by S.W. Kane
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I had just finished an absolutely amazing book (The Thief Taker) and I should have cleansed my palette with some mind-numbing action book that didn't take any thought before embarking on something like this.
I wasn't in the mindset for it and although it wasn't a slow burner, it took me a while to get hooked.
But get hooked I did - This is an amazing book, well written and with enough surprises to keep any detective thriller reader very happy.
For all my reticence in starting this book, I was gutted when I finished it today!
