Food & Drink
The food and drink at Dunya was excellent. One of our party enquired as to the Soup of the Day and they called over the head chef who asked what they would like. He made fresh tomato soup there and then, and apparently it was to die for! The selection of food all looked incredible, and the portions were a very good size.
We visited on a Tuesday evening, and Dunya were still participating in the COVID-19 Eat out to Help Out scheme, and it had a decent number of people in. It is well laid out to cope with social distancing and the décor, and the feel was very pleasant indeed.
The entrance, seating area and toilets are wheelchair accessible and on the same level. My only comment - in fact, my only point deduction in this entire review, is that there was no apparent means for drying your hands after using the basin in the gents. You have to go to the communal basin outside the cubicle where there is also a hand drier.
The cost of the food and drinks was very reasonable - even before the Eat Out to Help Out discount was applied. The bill, after discount, came to £100 for 4 people, with 3 courses each and drinks.
The service was excellent here. From the very attentive waitress, to the knowledgeable barman, to the head chef coming to us to ask if he could do any personal requests for us (like the tomato soup). They all came to say goodbye when we left also.
The Dunya Turkish restaurant is a new jewel in Plymouth's crown. It is an all-round excellent restaurant. We will be back many times…
